Rating: ♡♡♡♡ 4 out of 5 hearts
My partner and I stayed here March 14th to the 15th, and then returned April 18th to the 19th for our monthly date nights. The fact that we came back a second time should tell you everything. This place has officially earned a spot in our Top 5 Hotels near American Dream Mall that we'd actually return to. Bear with me though, I didn’t take photos of the room… Which I think is hilarious! Because in the first two hotels we stayed at, I have some dingy photos but in the room, no lobby photos despite the lobby being grand! And this one we went to TWICE, and I have plenty of photos of the lobby none of the room. Make it make sense.
Parking Reality Check
The parking situation is what it is. You're sharing a lot with several other hotels in the area, which means you might not snag a close spot. Here's the kicker: the staircase closest to the hotel entrance is completely blocked off and closed, so depending on where you park, you could be in for quite a trek.
I'll be honest, I felt anxious both times leaving my car pretty far away with my snowboard inside, but everything was completely safe on both occasions. From what I understand, the area has a solid reputation for safety, so that worry was mostly in my head.
The good news? Parking is free, which is always a win in my book.
Room Experience
Here's where things get interesting, and slightly frustrating. Our first stay had amazing Wi-Fi but terrible AC. Our second visit? Perfect AC, but the Wi-Fi was practically non-existent. We're convinced it has something to do with room placement within the hotel, but it's definitely something management should monitor and address.
Why does Wi-Fi matter? Well, if you don't have unlimited data or want to stream your own shows on the TV (because their channel selection is pretty limited), you'll need that connection.
But let's talk about what this place gets absolutely right, the space. These rooms are genuinely huge and spacious! Our king room came with a separate living room, bathroom, and bedroom. I honestly felt fancy enough that I wished they'd provided robes, but I guess people would probably walk off with those.
For the price point, this is seriously great bang for your buck.
Bathroom Breakdown
The bathroom delivers on the essentials with solid lighting, much better than some places we've stayed before. As contact lens wearers, we both appreciated having multiple mirrors to work with.
The shower is well-sized (we could comfortably shower together), and the water gets scalding hot, which makes my man happy since he likes his showers at what I consider diabolical temperatures.
Sleep Quality Assessment
The bed was comfortable enough, though I wouldn't rank it as the best sleep I've ever had. The blanket was perfect for someone like me who gets cold easily, and they provided a good amount of pillows. The blackout curtains do their job well, though I had trouble closing them completely during our second stay – they got stuck on me. My partner had no issues, but with my tiny hands, I just couldn't get the leverage. The curtain design feels a bit dated, but honestly, they're functional and that's what matters.
Location & Amenities
There's plenty within walking distance when it comes to restaurants and food options, which is fantastic. However, don't expect to walk to American Dream Mall, it's just not happening. Many surrounding hotels offer shuttle service, though I'm not entirely sure if this one does since we always drive.
Breakfast Game Strong
This was actually our first hotel stay that included breakfast, and wow, did they deliver! The highlight is definitely the waffle station, there's this amazing staff member (I think his name was Ubud? I'm terrible with names!) who makes the most incredible waffles. They're huge and fluffy, and he'll tell you exactly how long to wait before coming back to pick them up.
The breakfast setup is all-you-can-eat buffet style with a great selection of items. My only complaint? No oat milk option. As someone who's lactose intolerant, I would have loved that choice since I'm not a fan of almond milk, and oat milk has been everywhere lately. But we enjoyed our breakfast both times despite that minor missing piece.
The Bottom Line
This hotel is genuinely stunning with really intriguing architecture that caught my eye both visits. It's situated in a safe location with tons of restaurant options and cheap eats nearby. Plus, UberEats delivery works seamlessly if you want to stay in.
At around $200 per night, the pricing reflects peak season rates, so keep that in mind when planning your trip. But for what you get, the space, the location, the breakfast, and the overall experience, it's definitely worth trying if you're planning a trip to American Dream Mall.
The Wi-Fi/AC inconsistency is something to be aware of, but honestly, it wasn't a dealbreaker for us. We'll probably be back for round three.
Till Next Time!
