“What is this? There’s no reviews? What’s included? Will I like it? Will it help me? Do I need this? There hasn’t been any promotion on it, why should I buy it?” These are all questions I have heard since the product was released, and if you’re questioning whether to purchase this product or not, keep reading!
NOTE: Just because I'm a Passion Planner ambassador does NOT mean I will agree with everything Passion Planner puts out as a product. I AM a Passion Planner lover and use and own many of their products. But at the end of the day, I am human AND I am going to give you my most honest and truthful review. It’s for YOU to decide if this is something for you or not.
With that being said, let's get into it.
Just a heads-up: None of my blog posts are not sponsored! Every post is honest and straight from the heart, sharing information and value that I believe could genuinely benefit you. The way it's setup is underwhelming & disappointing.
The weekly journaling is absolutely pointless. There, I said it!
It's set up in such a way to be an easy transition for anyone who wants to change their life or start journaling if they’re new, but with the way it's set up it's going to be 6 months from when you start this before you actually start to map out what you want to change. But that’s not even the half of it! It doesn’t get better after that.
It’ll take one full year before you actually JUST START.
Considering Passion Planner's slogan is "Just Start," this journal/workbook is nothing and nowhere near that. I’m shocked that this is a product they thought to be okay to be released.
It was really disappointing for me to see what was inside of it. I was really hoping I had a good comparison to the Artist of Life workbook to present to everyone, but this isn’t it. I found this to be very stupid with the way it was set up and overall very underwhelming.
Feels like a money grab.
I don't think the price is worth it. Feels definitely like a money grab.
I think Passion Planner should stick to what Passion Planner does best and that’s make planners and SOME stationery goods. Some of their other stationery is a hit or miss also. The ones they do great are: of course, all their planners, sticker books, monthly tabs, highlighters, and notebooks.
The ones not so great: erasable pens, if anyone remembers their reusable planner cover fiasco from a few years ago those were a total miss. Their latest washi tape releases, although they're cute designs, but they are not in the least bit sticky compared to a bunch of other washi tapes I own.
With how successful the company is, I would have liked and expected the washi tape to be of decent quality. And for the price tag it's not worth it. So that’s another product I’m not purchasing further.
In all honesty, I wouldn't give more than $10 for this guided journal that they’re selling. Luckily that's exactly what I did because I had some points saved up that I wasn't going to use because you can't use BOTH a discount code AND points at the same time. At that point, I choose whichever gets me the cheapest discount.
If you want someone to get the commission, just use their link. Whatever you purchase while using their link, they will make a commission for. That is the same no matter where you go. If you click on someone’s Amazon affiliate link, and never exit the session and end up buying something completely else, the person who’s link you clicked on will get a % of what you bought during that session.
Too much emphasis on journaling.
I know this is a guided journal, but I was expecting more guides & activities and less journaling. I was expecting more ways of getting out of your head and finally just starting whatever goal you’re trying to work towards. But this wasn’t it.
A lot of these prompts are very cliche and you can find them anywhere on the internet. It's just made pretty and packaged neatly to appeal to customers.
But honestly, a lot of these journaling prompts don't really help you change your life or hone in on what needs to actually change. I could definitely come up with better journal questions than what was provided here. Reflection is good, but reflection without action is pointless. That's pretty much the bulk of this workbook. It’s just all reflection. Reflection on 2023, skipping 2024 entirely, and MAYBE you’ll be able to put stuff into action in 2025? MAYBE.
If they wanted to, they would actually compile a well-made workbook and/or guided journal on how to ACTUALLY change and transform your life. But honestly, they decided to throw this together to see if they could make an extra buck off of it.
Honestly,
Like mentioned above, I’m quite disappointed by the fact Passion Planner would have the gall to throw this together and list it, especially for $25.
Some of the graphics are cute, but honestly a lot of this could be thrown together in less than a month because of how basic it is. I’d probably be able to throw this together in 1-2 weeks honestly.
If you don’t know where or how to start journaling, this is an over priced weekly journal with cliche prompts. You would do so much better journaling 1-line a day with a 5 minute journal. Or plenty of YouTubers share journaling prompts. There’s so many free resources out there with these journal prompts. If you’re wondering what the journal prompts are, here I’ll list a few:
Week 3: What are the top three accomplishments in your life that you’re most proud of? Why are they significant to you?
Week 7: What activities or pursuits have you consistently enjoyed since childhood, and why do they resonate with you?
Week 18: Have you established a system to track your progress toward your goals? If you have, what’s worked for you and what hasn’t? How can you tailor your goal-setting approach to align with your unique working style?
Week 32: Reflect on the moments in your life when you felt overwhelmed or burnt out. What specific tasks, responsibilities, or situations tend to trigger stress and burnout for you?
Week 35: Write down three small victories or moments of gratitude from your day. How does acknowledging these small wins impact your overall mindset and well-being?
Week 36: Write a letter to your Past Self.
Week 47: Where in your life do you feel most abundant?
Week 48: Describe a recent challenge or setback you faced. What positive aspects or opportunities can you find within it?
Week 50: What are three ways you’ve changed since last year?
There’s so many others, but these were the ones that were cliche the most to me. Not to mention each chapters’ reflection was the same 6 questions over and over again.
My suggestion to you,
If you're really keen on trying out this guided journal, I would highly suggest sitting down with it for a week during your break and filling in AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. You can use code DREAMLIKEDIANA for 10% off because I don’t see this going on sale anytime soon.
I wouldn't do this according to weeks.
Change the word "week" to "section" in your head, but a lot of these weekly prompts are too drawn out and best to be done all in one go.
I don't mean to compare, but because I do own the Artist of Life workbook and have been using it for many MANY years, I highly suggest you buy yourself that instead if you want to see your life change.
Lavendaire sells both digital and physical copies of the workbook, and the digital never sells out or goes out of stock. When you buy the physical, you automatically get a digital copy with it. It's worth every penny, especially more so if you're new to changing your life or wanting to take action on your ideal dream life.
If you really want THIS guided journal instead though, there’s absolutely nothing out there stopping you from splitting the price with some of your friends and sharing it via Google Drive with each other. Of course, the person who purchases the product, their name & order number will be on every page listed. But it doesn’t take too much time in Goodnotes to use a white color to edit it all out. But if it doesn’t bother you, I would highly suggest doing this because I definitely wouldn’t give more than $10 for it. If even THAT!
How the Artist of Life workbook is better.
At first, I wasn’t going to include this section but I think for anyone out there looking into this guided journal, it would be best for me to add a tidbit of why Lavendaire’s Artist of Life workbook is better suited. That way, if you want to fall further down the rabbit hole, you can do so thanks to multiple blog posts I have on the workbook as well as multiple videos on my YouTube channel. But you can also follow me on Instagram, and see how I use it even further!
Here are some great comparisons side by side between Passion Planner’s guided journal & Lavendaire’s Artists of Life workbook.
If this convinced you to purchase the Artist of Life workbook, you can get $15 off your first order at Passion Planner by clicking here! Also be sure to check out my blog posts to see how I’ve been using it to transform and create my dream life. :)
If you have any questions or comments, let me know in the comment section down below and I’ll get back to you at my earliest convenience!
Till next time!
