Do you know what I love? Progress! It's absolutely addicting. In any of my planners, from start to finish, you can really see the progress I make. The changes I make throughout each planner, as well as constantly allowing myself to be flexible, not perfect, really add up to the feeling of success. That whole YES feeling. Have you ever felt that feeling before? That whole, claiming your goal or journey and falling in love with the process of it? If not, I have just the thing you need, the Artist of Life workbook by Lavendaire.

I started posting to YouTube and TikTok not because I wanted to become a full-time content creator, although I wouldn't mind making some residual income from it, but because I wanted to learn how to film and edit better. I called it, filming and editing with intent. My intention is to learn. Basically, allowing myself to be a beginner again, and sometimes that's a very daunting thing within your 20s or any point within your adulthood. We somehow have these unrealistic expectations of ourselves and what we put out needing to be perfect when in reality, that’s not possible if we’re new to something.

I'm in no way a professional, I don't have the money to go out and buy professional gear. Even if I did that wouldn't mean my content would be absolutely amazing or even good.

Put a DSLR camera into a newbie's hands, and he'll still shoot in auto and straight on. Stick a smartphone camera into a professional's hands, and they'll still be able to take editorial shots. They'll also go above and beyond by giving you tips and posing you in ways that make you look as if you were a professional model. That's because newbies don't have the skills, the knowledge, and the experience to understand what to look for in their frame. While a professional knows what they want, and can give tips to receive the results they want. Of course, they still use Lightroom and Photoshop to make things absolutely pristine, but the price tag of the equipment doesn't make someone a professional. They have to learn the ropes through trial and error.

You may be thinking then, "What does that have to do with this post?" Well, everything. I wouldn't be here. None of this website would actually be here, if it weren’t for the Artist of Life workbook. But before I get too far ahead of myself, let's talk specifics!

Just a heads-up: None of my blog posts are not sponsored! Every post is honest and straight from the heart, sharing information and value that I believe could genuinely benefit you. Why did I start this planner?

Originally, I started this planner because I really wanted a place to keep my One Little Word (OLW) workshop prompts all in one place. I knew I wanted to go digital. The year prior, I worked on it in my Passion Planner, but I really felt as if I could achieve better results through working with the Artist of Life workbook. It seemed to me, through the sample images, this was going to tie in very well with OLW, and it did. More OLW on another post though.

Beyond that, I was just finally accepting that I truly do deserve to invest in myself and that investment would be rewarded. It was a huge benefit to me that Lavendaire offered a digital version of the workbook itself. There are a lot of other planners I've been interested in, but because certain brands refuse to also consider digital, even after reaching out, I was really happy that Lavendaire was not part of that group.

I personally don't like to keep too many physical books, things start to get lost. So I have one physical planner, the Passion Planner, and one digital planner which is the Artist of Life workbook. They compliment each other really well and have two different planning techniques so it's not a repeat.

What did I achieve through it, so far?

Thanks to the Artist of Life workbook, I was able to start to overcome my fears, and my doubts, and get my shit together. Focusing on one big goal every quarter and breaking down the actionable steps has been such a life-changing experience. I know the Passion Planner has a road map and a game-changer, but they didn't work for me like this workbook did. Just getting down to the nitty-gritty details and getting clear on what my values are, what success means to me, and every single different goal you can think of really solidifies and helps bring about a tangible change. You start to dream less and start to think more in the terms of S.M.A.R.T.

And really, I cannot emphasize enough, that life after college isn't linear. If you're responsible for your life and want to grow and develop as a person, you'll learn through anything and everything around you. I'm so glad I found Lavendaire when I did, and I've also been enjoying her podcast, The Lavendaire Lifestyle.

As stated above, I started posting to YouTube & TikTok to learn, but none of this would exist without the Artist of Life workbook. I'm here because I invested in myself, and invested in taking a chance with this workbook & planner. In general, life is about taking chances in life. That's how you learn.

💖 Psst... I also run a small art shop! If you love cute, useful things like stickers, journals, or creative tools—check out what’s new in my store.

What are the benefits for you?

When I first purchased the workbook, I did try to look up through YouTube and Instagram if anyone else shared what the workbook looks like in detail. I wanted to get a closer idea if this was going to be something for me, and there wasn't really anything out there. There were tidbits, but not much of a flip through or review, which is what I search for prior to buying anything.

I also look into the community. The community also matters to me and Lavendaire has an awesome Facebook group that's really supportive of its members, but also Lavendaire has a group through Vibely where people all around the world can connect planner or not, workbook or not. I think sometimes it's hard to keep ourselves accountable, but doing a group challenge and feeling a part of something really helps with one's personal growth.

Who is this video for?

  • a college or high school student

  • a freelancer trying to figure out how to stay on track

  • an adult who is looking for a different kind of planning method

  • someone who is struggling in getting their life together

  • someone who needs to brain dump their thoughts and figure out the nitty-gritty

I'm generally excited to see how much I accomplish by the end of this year. I like really don't want this year to end, weirdly enough with everything that's happened up until now. I'm definitely going to do a full review and full flip through come January. This was really fun to make, the template that I made for the video, I made in Canva and I edited everything through HitFilm Express. It's been unreal how much I have accomplished and learned in such a short amount of time thanks to the Artist of Life workbook.

I also cannot wait to see any new changes Lavendaire has in store for the 2021 Artist of Life workbook. With that being said, time for the question of the day!
